Recently, my best friend, Kandace, had a baby, and until she gave birth, I didn’t know how much she valued Erin Braxton Loungewear as part of her maternity wardrobe along the way. The day after delivery, she asked me if she could guest blog in the lounge to tell her top reasons for wearing the collection as maternity loungewear. Here is her take…

I remember the moment when my best friend started throwing around the idea of starting Erin Braxton Loungewear. The idea turned into sketches, the sketches evolved into samples and the line was born. I’ve stood by in support from the beginning and my greatest reward (aside from celebrating alongside in her success) is FREE, AMAZING LOUNGEWEAR!
I pretty much own a piece of everything that has been created and lounge faithfully and fashionably. It wasn’t until I got pregnant earlier this year that I truly understood and ultimately appreciated all of the items I had accumulated. Here’s why Erin Braxton Loungewear became my number one “go to” maternity fashions:
1. Battling the first trimester blues
I was sick as a damn dog for the first 3 months and the last thing I cared about was my appearance. One day I passed by a mirror and was horrified. There was no reason I had to look bad, just because I felt bad. From that point on, I stayed in a basic tank and pant ensemble without fail. It became my easy uniform for lounging around the house and I actually felt better knowing my appearance was in check.
2. Managing the sweats
I turned into a walking oven, sweating in places I didn’t know existed, sucking on ice and keeping the A.C. on ultra low in order to stay comfortable. Not to mention, D.C. is notoriously hot and humid in the summer. So you can imagine how thankful I was for the breathable modal that kept me cool and sticky-free throughout those hot, summer months.
3. Showing off the bump
As I started to show, I got more proud of my little bump and wanted the world to know it. I would commonly wear the tank and tees as layering pieces for both work and play. The form fitting pieces hugged my bump without bunching or riding up.
4. Recovering in comfort
When it was all over, I was spent. Everything was tender and sore. The stretchable, thin elastic waistbands were a godsend and could be placed above or below my belly. All of the tops were no fuss and simply pulled on and off – a small task I had taken for granted pre-delivery. The modal was super soft on my skin and gave me a nostalgic feeling of being at home in my own bed.
5. Recovering in style
While all of the other new moms schlepped around the halls in wretch-inducing hospital gowns, I strolled the ward in style. I received compliments from my nurses, attending doctors and visitors. “You look great!” You can’t imagine how far a compliment goes post delivery.
Hopefully my experience can be yours, if you’re pregnant, are planning to be pregnant, or in recovery from being pregnant. You just have to dip your toe in the sea of Erin Braxton Loungewear. – ke
