So I’ve been doing a lot of “Lounging in the City” posts, and I wanted to share this very brief lounging experience I had because it was so unexpected.
Last night, the plan was to run to Trader Joe’s with my Beachwood boyfriend, Joe. (Beachwood Canyon is my neighborhood). Anyway, we were just out running quick errands. I had to pick up dog food, run to the post office, go to Traders…the usual stuff. When we got to Trader Joe’s, there was a taco truck parked out front. After picking up my two items and chatting it up with the checker in Trader Joe’s, we were informed the taco truck was delicious and we should give it a try. The taco truck I most often frequent is in Echo Park and opens at 8pm everyday. A little inconvenient, so I was optimistic this could be my opportunity to find an alternative. As a result, I’ve now discovered Pico de Gap L.A. A taco truck touring L.A. that also specializes in Gap denim. I’m not sure I get it, and I don’t ask questions with people and their interesting concepts in Los Angeles. All I needed to know was that you can get 2 tacos and a drink for $1.69. I ordered carnitas and Joe ordered shrimp. We sat on the grimey Hollywood sidewalk and ate our food in delight, listening to a great girl play her ukulele and it was such a peaceful, relaxing moment. Hollywood is a mess, but it can be so wonderful at times. For those 20 minutes, I was so chill just enjoying my surroundings. We ended up going back and ordering another 2 tacos each!
I thought I was just heading to Trader Joe’s to pick up a red onion and see what can happen? You’ve got to take your lounging moments as they’re given to you.
