Lounging in the City: Lunching on Abbot Kinney

This weekend was pretty relaxing.  I did a little more lounging around L.A. and wound up in Venice on Abbot Kinney.  The highlight of the day was us going to Gjelina for lunch.  Great food and atmosphere.  Despite the crowd on such a beautiful day, we got rock star parking and then didn’t have to wait longer than 30 seconds to be seated when there was a line out the door and no reservations are allowed.  I guess this is what we were supposed to be doing.  We took shots of our awesome meal which I’m sharing with you above.

Me hanging on Abbot Kinney

I managed to keep my eb loungewear white basic wrap all clean while stuffing my face!  The day couldn’t have been more perfect.  A nice daily escape from my Hollywood Hills neighborhood.  I promise to go back soon.

eb favorites: november 2010

It’s already mid-November and I still haven’t shared with you some of my favorite things.  As the weather continues to cool off, even in Los Angeles, there are some things that I can’t seem to get away from.  In each list I try to highlight one of my favorite pieces of Erin Braxton Loungewear, but I also want to give you a few things that make for great lounging and add to that comfortable setting you want to create in your life.  Maybe they’re not the traditional favorites that you see on some lists, but things that I feel are worth looking into.  So here are a few things I am loving right now.

1. I have fallen in love with coffee in a way I never thought possible since I discovered the Bialetti. Everyone seems to be opting for more complicated coffee makers but  a friend served me an expresso made from a Bialetti with simple Trader Joe’s Dark Sumatra and I don’t want to drink coffee from anywhere else ($30), bialetti.com

2. As one who constantly needs something on her lips to retain moisture, it might as well be something that makes them sparkle and look amazing.  Lancome Juicy Tubes “Magic Spell” is amazing. I’ve been wearing it for a few years and everyone always asks me what is on my lips.  Just the other day I sent a friend to purchase this stuff and as soon as she walked out of the store with it on, someone asked her what was on her lips.  Make sure you call around. Not all Lancome counters have it! Lancome Juicy Tubes Magic Spell ($18), lancome.com

3. My Netflix is becoming my best friend this fall.  Sometimes instead of reading books at night, I bring my laptop into my bedroom and catch up on TV series that I’ve missed over the years by streaming them over the net. Netflix.com

4. The Erin Braxton Super Lounge Tee has to be one of our most popular lounge dresses ever. I love to wear it with belts, boots, flip flops and flats.  It’s also perfect for hanging out around the house when it’s cooler. The long sleeves make it quite cozy. Erin Braxton Super Lounge Tee ($121), erinbraxton.com

5. This was a gift from someone and I am really loving my FlipMino  HD. For a not-so-professional videographer, this gets the job done. Point, click and load it up to the computer. So easy ($229), theflip.com

6. I was recently traveling in Colorado and stayed at a Marriott that sampled this lotion in the rooms.  It is amazing.  If you just want some smell good lotion that isn’t too expensive and won’t make you feel guilty about using shamelessly (because it cost so much), try Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Energy.  It  has a delicious, spicy smell, perfect for the cooler temperatures ($13), bathandbodyworks.com

7. It’s cooler and I definitely am eating more comfort foods.  Forage, in Silverlake L.A., is so tasty.  They have hearty, healthy dishes made from locally grown produce.  It’s so fresh and even though it’s filling, I don’t feel like I ate too much. If you’re in L.A. you have to check this out, foragela.com
